A pet's return to home information is included in their online profile which links to their tag. Anyone who finds a lost pet wearing a DocuPet tag may easily contact that pet's owner, or the 24/7 HomeSafe® hotline to facilitate a reunion.

How it works

A woman looks at her phone, which shows her dog Ollie's online profile. She is about to press a button with the text: Report Ollie Lost. The same woman is shown running towards her dog Ollie that has been found by someone.

Lost Pet Reports

With the click of a button, a Lost Pet Report may be created, triggering immediate actions to broadcast, identify, and retrieve their lost pet.

After a Lost Pet Report is submitted, owners may choose to share the report with Petco Love Lost, the largest free national lost and found pet database and only one using photo-matching technology to bring lost pets back home with a single click.

Stars

My cell phone rang - It was DocuPet telling me Zeph was safe with a gentleman who took him into his car! They helped put me in direct contact with his finder. Only 10-15 minutes went by but it felt a lot longer when your mind worries...it could not have gone better.

  • A dog on a leash.

This morning, I went to take out the trash and Bandit pushed past me and got out the back gate. I ran after him and looked for about 30 minutes. We got a call from DocuPet saying that a neighbor found Bandit a few blocks over and they called the number on his tag. DocuPet was very helpful and we had Bandit home within 10 minutes. I'm so glad he had his DocuPet tag on or we probably wouldn't have found him. Thank you to everyone for their help bringing Bandit home this morning ❤️

  • A dog

We just moved, and Bear found a loose board in the backyard fence and disappeared. Thanks to the quick action of neighbors, Bear was on a leash and reported as found. This all happened in just a matter of minutes. Lord knows what would've happened to my boy without a conscientious neighbor and quick access to DocuPet. I'm very impressed by how quickly DocuPet responded and grateful to everyone involved.

  • A dog with a ball in their mouth

Isabella has rarely (twice in 9 years) gotten out, but while out running errands, I received a text that Isabella had been found and was at someone else's place - safe but we needed to contact them. What we didn't realize is that she wasn't even wearing her tag, so the only thing that saved her from ending up in the Animal Rescue place was DocuPet registration. So glad our girl was safe and we got her back quickly

  • A dog on a bed

Khalua and DJ both got out, unbeknownst to us, DJ wasn't wearing his tag or collar. We received a call that Khalua had been found and secured, but the finders couldn't secure DJ who was within sight but couldn't be caught. I drove to meet the finders and I was able to locate DJ a block away and got him in the car safely. If it wasn't for Khalua having her DocuPet tag on, I never would have found them.

  • Two dogs on a bed

While we were visiting family out-of-state over the holidays, our golden retriever Myah got lost in a new neighborhood after being let outside on what was supposed to be a quick potty break. As we were frantically looking everywhere for her, DocuPet notified me that she had been found and was warm and safe inside a neighbor's garage. We had her back home within minutes. It was such a relief to know that she had been found! We were so grateful for the swift communication by the neighbor and DocuPet to let us know she was okay. Thank you for providing this service to help keep our beloved pets - our family - safe!

  • A dog wearing a scarf

I was getting back to the car from my morning desert walk when my dog Finley ran off as I was opening the car door. I frantically covered about a 1/2 mile on foot to no avail. I tried again with another person without success. I began to fear the worst when I received a call from a local business that informed me that Finley was found by an employee and ready to be picked up. I asked how they knew how to contact me and was told they reached out to DocuPet from the phone number on the tag. DocuPet played a major role in expediting his recovery. A big shout out to DocuPet for helping in getting Finley back!
